Acting Out at Home or in School / Fighting with Other Children
Repeated bad behavior – whether at school, home or both – suggests that kids may be struggling with underlying behavioral or mental health issues. See their acting out as a cry for help.
Research indicates that, by 17 months, 70% of children take toys from others and almost half push others to get what they want. Some kids will learn differently and outgrow these behaviors but about half of three year-olds who act out continue to do so in elementary school.
Clearly, experts can help when children’s behaviors jeopardize their ability to attend school or day care. However, earlier intervention may not only help solve the immediate issue, it can also detect if there are other underlying mental health issues driving the bad behavior.
