In Memory of Sal Romero

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our longtime colleague and friend, Sal Romero.
Sal was a valued member of the St. Vincent Family Services family for 15 years having joined the organization in May 2011 . During his time with SVFS, Sal served clients across our community on our Hispanic/Latino community based team connecting with Spanish speaking families to deliver behavioral health services within homes and schools across Franklin County. The last few years he spent most days at St. James the Less, where he was viewed as also a part of their school family. Sal was the first to volunteer to be at community events and celebrations to share his knowledge with families across our community.
Beyond his years of service, Sal was a well-loved member of our SVFS community. He touched the lives of many colleagues, children, and families throughout his time with us, and his presence will be deeply missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Sal’s family, loved ones, friends, and all those within our SVFS community who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
In recognition of his extraordinary service, leadership, and dedication to our mission, Sal was honored as the 2023 Corcoran Champion Award recipient, one of St. Vincent’s highest employee recognitions. He was admired not only for the care he provided, but also for the mentorship, compassion, and support he offered to colleagues and families alike.
